“As a native of Deir Mimas, in Southern Lebanon, I grew up observing the magic and mystery surrounding our Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Being commonly referred to as the "Bordeaux of Olive Oils”, has always made me proud.

​The harvesting season was and still is a real moment of joy and reunion for us: October is a festive month in the camps, at the mills, and in our houses.​ I considered this heritage a blessing and it had a considerable emotional impact on me. With time passing by, it felt that sharing this treasure of ours the world over is something I owe to my country, to my village, and to my family.

OUR LAND

Darmmess comes exclusively from Deir Mimas village, Southern Lebanon, commonly referred to as the “Bordeaux of Olive Oils”. 
Home to 130,000 ancient olive trees harking back to Biblical times, this authentic small village is blessed with white soil naturally rich in clay, a temperate climate, and an average altitude (580 meters), which offers a uniquely favorable environment for olive groves.

OUR FARMERS

Darmmess works hand in hand with the most dedicated farmers of Deir Mimas and rewards them financially for their outstanding efforts in sustaining the best agricultural practices. Our groves are fertilized with natural organic composts, ensuring the best nutrients and immunity levels to our majestic trees.

OUR HARVEST

The timing plays a crucial role in the superior quality of our EVOO. We pick our green olives very early and with great care avoiding bruising, between September 28th and October 10th, securing the highest possible levels of polyphenols content.   It is the “Souri” variety, one of the best and oldest in the world, originated in Sour- Tyr, thousands of years ago.

OUR PROCESSING

Unusually fast, starting immediately after the harvest for optimal health benefits, our first cold extraction happens at the modern and certified organic “Mimas Mill”, located in Deir Mimas. We employ a carefully designed system without heat or water addition, with a special attention to every parameter.  Then we proceed with filtering to remove the small particles of olives responsible for oxidation with time. The bottling process is initiated by cleaning our already sanitized dark bottles with compressed air. 
The whole process takes only 24 hours.

Chemical: Low acidity: 0.14%, low peroxide: 1.38 mg/kg, High Biophneols: 300 mg/kg

Health Benefits: Darmmess is classified as a High Antioxidant EVOO as per the European Union regulation (432/2012), and can be treated as a food supplement with 2 tablespoons daily to help you prevent and potentially reverse various diseases.
